Celebrating an event, an accomplishment, or anything that is deemed important is a vital part of life. Such as a birthday, getting a good grade on a big test, playing a big solo, etc. It’s always very nice to have people around that you can count on and be there to celebrate your accomplishments with you. Their support can be very comforting and reassuring, however, sometimes those people aren’t there. Celebrating for yourself can be hard since we might have been counting on the person to be there, to show up, or support us. When we choose to support ourselves, to do things that make us happy, such as making ourselves a birthday cake on a birthday spent alone, doing something to reward ourselves, such as having a spa day or splurging on a new item, that is something that can be in celebration for our accomplishments and events, even if we do it alone. When we choose self-love, we are supporting ourselves in a way that allows us to grow and evolve, and acknowledge that we are worth celebrating, whether it is with the support of another group there or not.
