Keeping a Healthy Routine

We all know that once school is over, the routines we established during the school year are also gone. But there are some important things to keep in mind regarding routines:

  • Maintain a healthy bedtime
    1. While you don’t have to wake up early anymore, it’s still imperative that you get enough sleep. Aim for getting at least 8 hours of sleep each night.
    2. Keep a consistent bedtime and wake-up time.
    3. Set healthy boundaries regarding electronics. Don’t use them right before bed. It is proven that it reduces the amount of time spent in deep sleep. Try to turn off your devices at least an hour before bedtime.
  • Maintain a healthy exercise routine
    1. Just because school is over, it doesn’t mean that you should stop exercising.
    2. Set a daily exercise routine and stick to it.
    3. Make a daily goal of how long you will exercise. Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity.
  • Eat healthily and stay hydrated
    1. It’s important to make sure you eat healthy foods, especially during the summer while you are home all day.
    2. During the hot weather, it is also important to stay hydrated. Make sure you drink plenty of water, especially when you are outside for a long period of time.

Keeping these things in mind, you can enjoy your summer and make the best out of it while staying healthy!
