Switching schedules can be difficult during the summer, especially when your routine is drastically different from what you had during the school year. Such a change often makes me feel unmotivated and disorientated, making it difficult for me to do the things I want. In my personal experience, I know that there will be a week or two of me trying to make a schedule for myself while experiencing the lack of motivation. So to combat that, I don’t commit to anything during that period of time, unless I know for certain that I am able and willing to do it. I know that I need time to readjust and rest to set up the rest of my summer, so I try not to overbook myself with friends or responsibilities that aren’t my top priority. While this might not work for everyone, it might work for another person.
